  • DFF celebrates film in Canada, showcasing the best from independent films and emerging filmmakers. Through a curated selection of films, educational opportunities, industry forums and networking events, the festival fosters community filmmakers, film enthusiasts and audiences while raising the profile of Canadian talent. This woman-led festival is about celebrating the filmmakers - we will bring the audience, you bring your film.

  • DFF is the first film festival in Dufferin County and will be held in Orangeville, Ontario - located just outside of the GTA, Orangeville is a hotspot of tourism activity, with a beautiful historic downtown core, various annual arts and culture events and an inspiring local landscape. Additionally, did you know that many films and tv shows have been shot in Dufferin? It is a fantastic place for filmmaking - with a diverse landscape and all of the services you need as a filmmaker. 

  • Canadian short films can be submitted via Film Freeway and submissions are open now! More information is available here.

  • The Dufferin Film Festival 2025 is a three-day event. Our program and schedule will be released in early summer of 2025.

  • There are many hotels in the area: Hampton Inn & Suites, Millcroft Inn & Spa, Best Western, Hockley Valley Resort, There are also beautiful boutique spaces to stay downtown such as The Nest Suites (located directly across the street from the theatre and only 2 suites available!)

  • Tickets will be available on this site and will be released in early summer.

  • In an absolutely beautiful historic theatre called the Orangeville Opera House. Typically, this theatre houses professional and community theatre as well as other ticketed live events - DFF is transforming the 273-seat space to display films for the weekend.
